Lip balm

3 T grated beeswax (about 25g, can use candle ends)
scant 1/3 cup grapeseed oil (75 mL)
1 T honey (something like rata or kamahi is good, but clover is fine)
15-20 drops essential oil (I particularly like lime)

1. Melt the beeswax and oil in a 1 cup capacity pyrex jug in the microwave, stirring to combine (approx 90 seconds heating). Leave to stand until it starts to solidfy (approx 30 min.)

2. Add honey and oil and stir well. If desired, stir in a tiny dab of lipstick for colour. Continue to stir occasionally as it cools until it is all mixed together and stays that way (a couple of hours).

3. Spoon the mixture into containers and cover when completely cool. For glossier lip balm, use less wax (as little as 2T) and more oil (as much as 1/2 cup).

Makes 5 small pots (each around 14g) or 10 'chapstick'-type tubes
